Our SEO plans start at $2,000+GST a month. That is the floor, not a teaser rate, and it is the same number you will hear on the call. There is no setup fee and no lock-in contract, so the first month costs what every month costs.

How competitive your market is

Why most agencies will not publish an SEO price

Nobody will tell you what it costs

You have filled in three contact forms and every one came back with “it depends” and a calendar link. It does depend on a few things, and we explain which ones further down, but there is always a floor. Ours is $2,000+GST a month. An agency that will not name a floor is usually pricing you, not the work.

The cheap quote is cheap for a reason

There is a whole tier of $500 a month SEO in Australia. At that price the work is offshore, templated and measured in tasks completed rather than enquiries generated. You will get a report every month showing activity. You will not get a phone that rings more often.

The contract is where the real cost hides

A 12 month lock-in means the agency gets paid whether or not the work lands. It removes the one piece of leverage you have. We do not use them, which means we have to keep earning the retainer every month.

What happens in month 1, month 3 and month 6

SEO is a compounding spend and the first month never looks like the sixth. This is what the money buys, in order.

We fix what is broken, restructure what is confused and build the pages that were missing. You will not see a ranking jump this month and anyone who promises one is guessing.
Month 3: the first honest movement

How much does SEO cost in Australia?

Credible agency retainers in Australia sit roughly between $1,500 and $10,000+GST a month, and the spread is mostly about competition and scope rather than quality. Below about $1,000 a month the work is almost always offshore and templated. Our plans start at $2,000+GST a month.

How much does SEO cost for a small business?

For most Australian small businesses targeting one city and a handful of services, $2,000 to $3,000+GST a month is the realistic range for work that moves the needle. The honest answer is that if $2,000 a month would hurt your business, SEO is probably not your best next spend, and we will tell you that on the call.

Why do SEO packages vary so much in price?

Because the label covers completely different work. A $500 package is usually a report and a few directory listings. A $2,000+ retainer is a specialist doing technical fixes, writing pages and earning links. Ask any agency who does the work after you sign and how many other clients that person has.

Do you have a lock-in contract?

No. Every plan is month to month with no minimum term. You can stop any time with 30 days’ written notice, and once your invoices are paid, the work we have already done, including the pages, the fixes and the profile, stays yours.

Is there a setup fee?

No. The first month is the retainer, and most of it goes into the foundation work described above.

Is the website really free with an SEO campaign?

Yes. When you start an SEO campaign we design and build your new website at no cost. There is no build fee and no minimum term attached to it, and if you ever stop the SEO, the website stays yours.

Is cheap SEO ever worth it?

Rarely, and usually not in a competitive market. The cost of cheap SEO is not the money, it is the nine months you spend not ranking while a competitor who paid properly builds a lead you then have to close.

What if it does not work?

You are month to month, so you give us 30 days’ notice and stop. We would rather tell you at month six that SEO is not the right channel for your business than keep taking a retainer for a campaign that is not going to land.

How quickly will I see results?

After determining what “results” means for our clients, we create an SEO forecast and clearly communicate it. Having said that, it’s impossible to approximately pinpoint a specific ranking or amount of leads you will generate in “X” amount of time after investing in SEO. However, generally speaking we can begin to see an improvement in Google visibility within the first few weeks for certain keywords. How long do we need to do SEO for?

With Searchology you’re never locked into a minimum term. You can stop with 30 days’ written notice and start again whenever you like. However, we recommend a minimum period of 6 months to see seriously meaningful results from your SEO campaign with us.

Who actually does my business’ SEO work?

Your campaign is led by Jeremy in Adelaide, and he is responsible for every piece of work on it. You will work and communicate with our local Australian team, not an offshore call centre.

Can we meet in person to discuss my business’ SEO?

Do you optimise for AI search as well as Google?

Yes, and it is part of every campaign rather than an upsell. The same work that ranks you in Google, clear service pages, correct schema, real reviews and genuine local authority, is what Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot draw on when they answer a question about your industry. Can I turn off my Google Ads after doing SEO?

We do not recommend turning off Google Ads immediately after commencing SEO services with us. However, over time and a seriously successful SEO campaign with Searchology, there will be scope to lower ad budgets and let organic traffic take the wheel.

What happens to my website and Google Business Profile if I stop?

They stay yours once your invoices are paid. Your domain and Google Business Profile are set up in your name wherever the platform allows, and we hand over access cleanly, with no hostage tactics. If we host your website, you can take a full export to another host, or keep it with us on a monthly hosting plan.
